Notting Hill had a viewing for the new flats in Kingfisher House. We took some pics of the only one with a river view. £340,000 for one bed, and the service charge is £215pm. No parking either. It's a real rabbit warren to get into too - several twists and turns before you're safely hidden away from the posher flats. View bigger pics by clicking on them...

UPDATE, 12.06.07: NH have written to us acknowledging recept of our letters and we now wait (and wait and wait) for them to respond.
We have now formally complained to Notting Hill about their promise to decorate our entrance hall not being honoured: a copy of the letter is under 'continue reading'.
It's hoped they will be in touch soon suggesting a solution. Assuming they refuse to even paint the hall the same colour as everybody else, we need to decide on next steps which looks like a "name and shame warning to others" media plan which will need people to take clearly defined roles/ actions - click 'continue reading' for some current ideas.
Somebody's had a serious problem with a smoke alarm going off and refusing to stop. Said person eventually had to dismantle the thing.
When they asked concierge for help, they were told to f*ck off to their face, how much they hate everybody in Hanover etc... and that it was Notting Hill you need to contact for such things. They were also told that they were now liable if a fire broke out. Not the same as when they flood us and turn the water alarm off, but that's what we've come to expect.
So, if you have had problems, please contact Paris. Given the response from Peverel, we're not sure there's benefit in involving them.
Notting Hill have been in touch to let us know that the water will be off this coming Monday 25 September for four hours from 10am.
They're replacing something called a 'sump' that will put a stop to leaks and the water regularly going off.
BIN CHUTES
Residents who live near the bin chutes have reported that they can hear everything being dropped down. As a neighbourly gesture, could we show some consideration and avoid using the chutes after 11pm?
REPORTING NOISY NEIGHBOURS
We know some people are having trouble with noisy neighbours and in particular from Hobart who seem resistant to polite requests for turn it down. We've since learned that if you ring Notting Hill out of hours, they can help by getting somebody out to monitor it from Lambeth. You can ring Lambeth direct but if you do it via Notting Hill we think this helps in getting action as NH will start the process of evicting them assuming said noisy person doesn't want to "work with them to resolve the issue."
We decided at a preliminary resident's meeting to list the faults with each flat here, noting we have a time in which to repor them all to Notting Hill for fixing - those cracked windows, leaks etc.

As mentioned at the meeting, residents at the Isokon have told us that they only got action after getting media attention, for example: Dream flats turn into nightmare for furious residents and a 'letter to the editor'.
I'm assuming things have improved and Notting Hill will be on board working with us. If not we can pool our contacts and devise a mini media plan.
