THAMES CLIPPER CRASHES INTO TOWER PIER. INJURIES.

The BBC reports that "Four people have been taken to hospital with minor injuries after a Thames riverboat crashed into a pier (Tower). More than 50 people were on board the catamaran when it hit the Tower Millennium Pier at about 19:00 BST."

VAUXHALL SAVED - WAITROSE COMETH!

Our Waitrose Vauxhall Alert system went wild this morning with multiple warnings - near miss or an actual real event?!  We kept our hopes down as we checked our facts but it's true: there's a small Waitrose on a collission course with Vauxhall bus station.  It'll be under the new Travelodge.  Completion of the building is due in the year of our Lord (Coe), 2012 - here's hoping sooner rather than later.

THREE PLANNING EXHIBITIONS COMING UP

Thursday 8 September
30-60 South Lambeth Road  - The developer is Downing and the scheme comprises student housing and a leisure centre. There is an exhibition at the Vauxhall Christian Centre (105 Tyers St) on Thurs 8th Sept (4pm to 8pm) and Sat 10th Sept (11am to 4pm ).

14 & 15 September 
American Embassy site – The exhibition of the plans is scheduled to take place on the 14th and 15th September at Unit 1-5 Ponton Road (8am to 8pm). 

15 & 17 September
One Nine Elms (they want to demolish the big brown building and build something new). The developers are Green Property and CIT and the scheme comprises residential, offices, community and public realm provisions. There is an Exhibition at Market Towers on Thurs 15th Sept  (4pm to 7pm) and Sat 17th Sept (10am to 2pm). 

GYM USERS - INCREASINGLY ANTI-SOCIAL

We welcomed the gym when it opened but many of the users are proving very anti-social.  As well as the endemic litter, many users like to have a mid break cigarette which they put out.  They're also attaching bikes to hand railings despite extra spaces being built for them.  We know two people have been physically threatened by users refusing to let up the stairs/ through out front door.  This is all in addition to all the problems of having  a very high footfall right next to our front door. 

WATER WATER EVERYWHERE BUT NOT A...

What started as a leak some time ago has turned into the need for a new pump meaning no water from the 9th floor up. Saint award goes to John who put the poster (that's a pic of it to the right) up about hotels. Since taken down.

All very frustrating but sadly somebody has gotten miffed and vandalised the right hand lift - blue bleach/ limescale remover on the steel - destroying it and requiring the panels to be replaced - rough guess at parts, labour etc about £3k and God knows when it'll happen - we're trying to find out what happens in such circumstances. Alex cleaned up the mess.

So, a major hell that'll be over Monday has resulted in our lift being vandalised - theory goes that somebody in need of bleach for their by then vile loo lost it. Nice.

The Gym Group have said that their builders have delayed the opening of the new gym from June until July. Hopefully the drilling will subside as they move on to fitting it out. They'll email those who've joined updates etc.

HANOVERHOUSE.INFO - OUR NEW WEB ADDRESS

The new web address for the Hanover House Residents' Weblog is hanoverhouse.info - easier to remember - tell your neighbours.  It will take a couple of days to activate fully as it registers with servers around the world.

VOTING PAPERS MISSING

Registered to vote but not received your voting card?  I've just rung Lambeth who've apologised and basically said the "post office don't like delivering them cause there's over 200,000 of them and in big developments they often dump them in communcal or reception areas." 

He also said our Hanover House address had been rejected by Town Planning.  At the moment, we're only 7 St George Wharf, according to their records. This may change and we can find out more soon.
