Blackbox closed permanently 10th June 2007. Fickstutenmarkt has moved, maybe permanently, to Kitkat.

Blackbox (used to be called Midnight Sun) is one of your sleazier bars in gay Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg. They bill themselves as Your fetish club in Prenzlauer Berg. Leather, Army, Rubber, Jeans, Sport and Skatewear. Its small and friendly with a circular bar, so you can sit there and eye up the talent easily before dragging them back to the darkroom. The (not very) darkroom has a few door-less cubicles, lots of nooks and crannies, a sling and a fuck table. It's a good place for a cruisy, casual night and if you fancy a change of scene and more darkroom, you can always pop across the road to Darkroom (smaller and sleazier) or Greifbar (similar size, slightly less sleazy.)

Blackbox is the usual venue for the notorious Fickstutenmarkt.

Die Neu Sonne or Midnight sun? Well, it was always confusing what is name was, and now they've changed it to Blackbox. That's official since 1st Feb. Except that Blu mag hasn't noticed and they haven't changed the sign on the outside. Still it all looked much the same inside when we visited for Fickstuttenmarkt last Saturday. The web site is still http://www.dieneuesonne.de/ and they're promising free beer on Friday 15th Feb. Get down there and drink them dry!
