As every Mixmag reader knows, it's all about the afterparty. And when your actual party has a line-up that includes Justice, Timo Maas, Chase & Status, Frankmusic live and more, the after party has to be something special.
So we’ve turned to the experts. Helming rooms in the Egg rave warren after Mixmag’s Christmas Party on 5th December are Leeds party outlaws Ketaloco, fresh from a summer throwing amazing raves at the abandoned zoo in Ibiza, London’s undead dawn chasers Zombies Ate My Brain, the Egg’s own Always Fridays and underground techno and electro night Maximalism. Oh and the incredible Timo Maas and Santos will also be staying on after the main event to make sure that you remember the Mixmag mission statement: Bed is the enemy.

We welcome back two of favourite guests from earlier in the year: DIM and Riton…
DIM's "Is You" and "Airbus Baby" are two of the biggest electro tunes of the past couple of years and last time he played he absolutely tore the place apart! Not just known for his productions, he has remixed the likes of The Presets, Chromeo, The Faint and Fischerspooner and has toured extensively this year all over Europe as well as completing a successful US tour. Expect loads of heavy, twisted bass and other electro madness!
Riton is currently riding high after the release of his "Eine Kleine Nacht Musik" LP on Modular Records, a beautiful Kraut-Rock orientated affair that has wowed both the critics and the punters. A regular at nights such as Bugged Out and Kill 'em All, he is also a shortly off on Soul Wax's mini Christmas European tour with the likes of Tiga, Crookers, Erol Alkan, Boys Noize etc. A master of the ravey tech sound updated for the 21st century, expect an electic sound spanning Techno, Electro and everything in between.
Support comes from AF regulars, Jonjo and Dekker. Jonjo is resident at the uber-cool west end night, Durrr and is a favourite of all those in-the-know. Expect all things Electro from one of most popular regulars with plenty of "you heard it here first" moments!
We welcome Dekker back with his first official gig as an AF resident… He rocks the crowd so much every time he plays, it made perfect sense for him to become one of the family! His sets span techno / electro yet have his own unique touch- he is a master of that late night sound, so make sure you stick around to catch his set. Also look out for his recent remix of The Hours, which received 10/10 in iDJ recently!
On the middle Floor we welcome the guys from Black Rabbit- Guy Williams & Bones. Their parties over the past year or so have taken them to Snow Bombing in Austria, Eden in Ibiza as well as hosting many successful London nights, including Bugged Out and soon to be room 2 at Matter. Their DJ CVs are up there with the best of them (Guy has previously completed a radio 1 essential mix, been personally asked to play by Danny Tenaglia as well as playing all over Europe and the USA).
Support comes from Cormac (Wet Yourself) and Always Fridays resident, Jacob Husley. Expect plenty of bouncy Techno, chunky Minimal and a dash of upfront electro!
In the New York Loft this week we are proud to feature to feature two of London's finest from the Disco underground: Ben Rhymer from Gucci Soundsystem and Damon Martin from Disco Bloodbath! Both are at the forefront of the recent Disco revival, with Ben having released on DFA and Damon's Disco Bloodbath party being one of the most popular in London right now! Expect all sorts of anything-goes disco-related fun…

For our last party of the year we pull out all the stops for a very special event with two of Europe's finest and most in-demand DJs, Popof and Oliver Koletzki. Not only that but Oliver plays as part of a Flash Records showcase, their first time in the UK! In our New York Loft we also have the magnificent Serge Santiago and Bones for an anything goes Disco session!
Popof makes a rare trip over the Channel from Paris for our Christmas party. He is a truly versatile artist and DJ having had his minimal tech / electro releases hit the top of the Beatport Charts on several occasions- his 2007 Alcoholic EP was a huge hit and he has remixed the likes of Moby, The Mystery Jets, Tiga, Tocadisco and Butch. One look at his calendar and you can see how in demand he is, with dates all over Europe up until the middle of next year. A favourite of many top DJs including Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Tiesto, John Digweed, Erol Alkan and Sven Vath to name a few, he is a DJ that is set to carry on his rise to the top in 2009!
Matt Walsh has had quite a year so far, being picked up by Tiga's Turbo Recordings as a DJ for their USA tour / podcasts and as a producer with his Clouded Vision project. He is a regular and a firm favourite here at AF and always rocks the crowd with his tech-electro-acid sounds!
Peter Pixzel is one of the residents and founders of the infamous Sunday night East London weekly that is Wet Yourself. This year has seen him travel the world as a DJ, including several trips to Japan and a recent set at the world famous club, Womb. He will be rocking the crowd into the early hours with some bouncy techno, chunky electro and maximal minimal.
Stopmakingme is resident at AITBF and Kill em All and has been quitely been carving a name for himself in 2008 with slots at all the top parties / clubs / festivals. He is one of our favourite DJs to play here this year, so it made sense to ask him back for the Christmas Party. Expect plenty of disco-fied electro sounds for a warm-up not to be missed!
Up on the middle floor we have Flash Records with their first ever UK showcase…
Florian Meindl and Oliver Koletzki started Flash Recordings in autumn 2006, a label primarily dedicated to releasing their own collective music. However, today Flash also releases other artists such as the established producers Daso, Lützenkirchen or newcomers such as Michael Strauss.
Oliver Koletzki first made his name on the international clubbing scene in 2005 with his release of the number one best seller track 'Der Mückenschwarm'. Signed to Sven Vath label Cocoon the release was later named "Best Track" in the 2005 Reader's Poll of Germany's Groove Magazine and has since been remixed by Dominik Eulberg and Pig & Dan. Following the release of "Der Mückenschwarm", Oliver Koletzki stayed on top of the game with releases on Cocoon, Kling Klong, Oliver Huntemann's Dance Electric imprint and has also set up his own label, Stil vor Talent that have become hugely successful.
There are not many young people in electronic music that have had such a huge success as quickly as Florian Meindl. By the age of 21, he had already released tracks on Great Stuff, Stil vor Talent, Resopal, Trapez, Session Deluxe and Kling Klong and started his own label Flash Recordings together with Oliver Koletzki. We are pleased to welcome him for his Always Fridays debut!
2008 have been a massive year for the Danish techno duo Husley & Gunz. Their EP New Pleasure became huge after being played on Kiss 100 by John Digweed and Carl Cox and made it to the top of the what peopleplay and beatport charts.Their burning LIVE sets executed with CDJs, samplers and keyboards have given them regular bookings in the biggest venues around Europe and further.
Up in our newly launched New York Loft we have the rather fine partners-in-crime, Serge Santiago and Bones (Black Rabbit) for an all-night anything-goes Disco session. Expect the unexpected!
